Cuppacakes Relocation?

As we float along in life we notice that things change....times change....people change...and lately for myself, careers change. If you know me personally you might know that I've recently been faced with the corporate woes of downsizing. That's just how business works though. A new job, a new start should be nice and probably just what I need. As for my precious cuppacakes biz, it is after all a side business for me and top priority at this time is finding primary employment. I have been very successful with Cuppacakes and I really enjoy it. There are talks of relocating the business to Austin, TX to avoid closing the business all together-that would be tragic. We are currently making plans to move to the Austin area and are excited about our new endeavor. For all of my followers, addicts, and patrons I want to give my deepest appreciation to you for your support and business in months past.

I will be taking orders through the end of May. After May, Cuppacakes by Aimee will be on hold for the relocation process. I will keep you posted on any news!

Turtle Power!

Well when I was asked to do Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cuppacakes for a 5 year old's birthday party last week I was faced with a great opportunity to make a little boy smile. I will be honest the TMNT design was a little nerve racking to get right...I mean what if I got the ninja colors wrong? I 5 year old who's world is all about Spiderman, TMNT, and cartoons among other things, will definately know you didn't do your homework! So I ran to the computer and googled it to get the job done right.

So if you were curious here's what you should know about the cuppacakes photos featured below:
Leonardo-Blue bandana, uses a katana for his weapon
Donatello-Purple bandana, uses a bo for his weapon
Raphael-Red bandana, uses a sai for his weapon
Michaelangelo-Orange bandana, uses nunchucks for his weapon

I think my favorite is Michaelangelo....gotta love a turtle with nunchuck skillz.

Vote for Flavours!

Recently I've been getting so many requests for more unusual and fun flavours. So I have added a few new cake, frosting, and filling flavours to liven up the menu. So, I've posted a voting card for everyone to participate in the cuppacakes flavour poll. There are 6 exotic cake flavours to choose from and its possible I will add the top 2 flavours! Candidates:
1.Margarita - Sweet and tangy lime cake with a citrus butter cream topped with colored sugars, candied lime wedge and straw. Ole!

2.Red Velvet - Luxurious chocolate cake with rich red color topped with a tart cream cheese frosting.

3.Chocolate Orange - Smooth orange flavoured cake with rich chocolate flair topped with a citrus or chocolate butter cream frosting.

4.Blue Coconut - Soft coconut flavoured cake with a yummy blue hue, topped with a cream cheese frosting or vanilla butter cream and coconut shavings.

5.Strawberries & Champagne - Luxurious champagne flavoured cake with whole strawberries baked right in. Topped with cream cheese frosting or strawberry butter cream frosting and edible glitter for bubbly.

6.Tres Leches - Light tres leches flavoured cake topped with chocolate or vanilla butter cream frosting and chocolate shavings.


Added this month were:
-Green Tea Cake made with Earl Grey tea leaves topped with new Honey-Lemon butter cream frosting.

-Chocolate Raspberry Cake with chunks of juicy raspberries baked right in the cake, best topped with a sift of confectioner's sugar...but also goes well with a tasty cream cheese or chocolate frosting.

-Banana Cake which is almost like a banana bread but nevertheless yummy and goes great with the new vanilla cream filling and classic vanilla or chocolate frosting.

-Fillings: Vanilla Cream, Chocolate, Orange Cream, & Peanut Butter.

-Frosting: Honey-Lemon butter cream, Cinnamon Cream Cheese, sift of powdered sugar.

So far the Green Tea cuppacakes with Honey-Lemon Butter Cream are a favourite flavour among my most recent orders and my dear guinea pigs.

Cuppacakes for the Cure

As you might know, I formed a team for the Race for the Cure in Plano on June 2nd. After much promoting and soliciting my customers, friends, and family...I am still needing some help with my personal fundraising goal for the Komen North Texas Race for the Cure. I am however very proud of our team member Mehgan Blanton, she has really pulled through and raised so much funds! Keep up the great work Mehgan! I'm sure all of our team members will have plenty of fundraising power by race day! Supporting this cause means a lot to me and to many people around me that have been touched in some way by breast cancer. I hope that my reaching out will draw in some money to help the Komen North Texas Affiliate for local breast cancer research and awareness. We currently have 5 members on our team "Cuppacakes for the Cure". If you want to join, you are more than welcome to! Registration is just $22 (that includes a RFTC tshirt). The more people on the Cuppacakes team the better!

Blogging for You

Many of you know me and have been cuppacake patrons since I started Cuppacakes in January of this year. I thank you for your support and your orders along the way. I am certainly enjoying my small business and only have dreams of growing it into something bigger and better. If you have placed an order, you have certainly helped me carry on that dream with your confidence in me providing you with cute little cakes. I enjoy being creative with each order. Now that I am about to hit the 6 month mark of starting this idea, I look back and realize that I have grown a lot since I began. A new website, bigger client base (thanks to your word-of-mouth), online orders, and much more.

As I keep trekking along, I will post blogs that will include news, reviews, recipes, photos, and more that I hope will be interesting for you (my readers). Again, I thank you for stopping by and for all of the support that all of my patrons have given and will give in the future! I truly am inspired to keep up the great work I feel that I am doing for you.
